ABOUT Toy Making for Tots:
Start with a one-time private session (2 hours)
In this hands-on class, we work together to build a simple wooden project—typically a toy car, treasure chest, or birdhouse. Each project is designed so we can complete it in a single session, and your child can take it home to paint or decorate.
Along the way, they’ll safely try out real woodworking tools, such as the chop saw, bandsaw, drill, nail gun, orbital sander, and more—all with close one-on-one guidance.
COST: All-inclusive: $245 for a 2-hour private session

POWER TOOLS: ONE ON ONE SESSIONS FOR ADULTS
WHY: From Lumber to Masterpiece!
WHAT: We offer custom one-on-one project classes, but those are usually more involved and require a bigger time commitment, so it helps to get some hands-on experience first.
A great place to start is our two-hour, one-time private intro session—a guided tour of the shop, the tools, and the fundamentals. Together, we’ll mill, cut, and assemble a small decorative box (usually from a thick piece of walnut) with a sliding lid for you to take home.
If you’d like a deeper dive (recommended), we also offer a 4-hour version split over two sessions for $450. In this expanded class, we add a decorative hinged lid and apply an oil finish, giving you more time with each tool and step.
Both sessions focus on the core tools of a woodshop: the table saw, miter saw, surface planer, orbital sander, and more.

Plywood Face Frame Cabinet- Second Project
This project combines skills the student learned from the finger joint box project and adds measuring and table saw work as well as router, jig saw, hardware installation sanding and finishing
The intro class and the second project give the student a basic understanding of the construction process, tools and shop safety giving them the ability to move on to more creative and detailed projects.
Jon's teaching philosophy: Safety First.
In and out of the shop, Jon value’s values along with a good story and laugh.
Think of him as the Mr. Miyagi (from karate kid) of woodworking in Brooklyn. He’s the real deal. Parents will surely enjoy time with Jon as much as the kids do!
